Ordered online, delivered by parcel
Yannic Fréson 3D handles an order from Antwerp, Berchem, Borgerhout, Deurne, Wilrijk, Merksem, Hoboken or Ekeren entirely online, and it ends with a parcel. The quote states a fixed price for the print and lists the shipping cost separately. The print is ready 3 to 5 working days after your approval; the carrier's delivery time comes on top.
What you get: prices that are on the site, a fixed point of contact from request to delivery, and design work from the same source if there is no file. You know beforehand what it costs, because the quote comes before the print. The breakdown is on the pricing page, and why a print costs what it costs is explained in the guide on what 3D printing costs in Belgium.
There is nothing to visit and nobody to queue for. If a broken part has to be recreated, photos with a ruler in shot and the main measurements are usually enough; otherwise you send the part by post.

What gets printed for Antwerp
Yannic Fréson 3D prints presentation models and prototypes in up to four colours per object for designers, students and makers in Antwerp, and replacement parts and personalised gifts for private customers. One example: a form study of a handle in three variants, each in a different colour, so that they can be judged side by side.
Antwerp trains product developers: the University of Antwerp has a bachelor's and master's in product development at its Faculty of Design Sciences. Anyone who designs needs, at some point, a shape they can hold.
For a form study like that, FDM in PLA is a good choice. The 0.2 mm layers do not get in the way of judging a shape, and adjusting a variant is a matter of changing the drawing and printing again. If you want a presentation model with areas of colour, a logo or lettering, those colours are printed along with it.
The limits apply here too: no resin for ultra-fine detail, no metal, no 3D scans, and the largest part measures 256 × 256 × 256 mm. Larger models are printed in sections that you glue together yourself.

Printing it yourself in Antwerp
Anyone in Antwerp who wants to 3D print for themselves can go to the BibLab in the library of the University of Antwerp. It has an Ultimaker S3 and a Flashforge Guider IIs that print in PLA; you reserve a machine and pay for material by weight. Yannic Fréson 3D is there for those who outsource it.
The conditions are on the page of the UAntwerp BibLab. Check the conditions there before you go.
The difference is the same as everywhere. In a lab you do it yourself, in one material and during opening hours. With a print service you send the file, choose from PLA, PETG and ABS/ASA, and the part can be drawn for you if you have no file. One costs you an afternoon, the other a quote.

Questions from Antwerp
Why order a 3D print online from Antwerp?
It makes sense if you want a fixed price beforehand, want printing and design from the same source, or are after a part in up to four colours. If you would rather stand next to the printer while it works, a lab or makerspace in the city suits you better.
How long does it take for a 3D print to be delivered in Antwerp?
The print is ready 3 to 5 working days after you approve the quote. After that it goes by parcel to your address or a pickup point; add the normal delivery time of a parcel within Belgium. The shipping options are on the page about delivery and shipping.
Can I have several variants of one design printed for a presentation in Antwerp?
Yes. Variants of the same part in one order share the start-up fee, and each can be printed in a different colour so they are easy to tell apart. Send the files together and say which is which. Rates are on the pricing page.
